Oral Presentation take-aways

Exploring the problem of How to Make a Painting.

Painting under question, not as unified composition, but an assortment of additions and removals through: Staining, stenciling, stitching, bleaching and marking.

·      Could you split, open, crack as part of the process??

NOTION of palimpsest (contrasted with Tabula rasa) - has been useful. Could be developed by understanding this work as rethinking a type of abstract painting – away from Modernist role = clean slate.
